• A house provided by the District of North Vancouver
• The upgrading of the facility with support from the North Shore
service clubs as well as many businesses and trades people who have
donated time, services, and materials.
“Somebody Has to Help!” Campaign to keep the Youth Safe House open
--
The North Shore Service Club Committee launched a campaign in the
fall of 2007 to ask the government to provide on-going funding to
keep the Youth Safe House open on a long-term basis. They received
over 7000 signatures.
Government Funding
The petition was presented to the provincial government by the four
North Shore MLAs. In January, the provincial government announced
that $125,000 would be provided annually. As well the federal
government has announced funding for $543,000 over 15 months.
